Deliverables
Storefront Graphics · Modular Design System · Implementation Guide · Environmental Design
Background
Health Mart is a national network of independently owned pharmacies operating under a shared brand. Over time, each location had customized its storefront graphics independently—resulting in visual inconsistencies, outdated materials, and uneven customer experiences. The client sought a cohesive, refreshed system that could unify its presence across the country while allowing each pharmacy the flexibility to adapt to local needs.
Challenge
To create a design system that worked across hundreds of unique storefronts—different window sizes, signage constraints, and lighting conditions—while maintaining legibility, consistency, and brand integrity. The solution needed to modernize the brand’s look from the street, increase visibility from the parking lot, and streamline production for local teams.
Objectives
Refresh the brand’s visual language to improve curb appeal and recognition.
Design a graphics system that flexes across a wide variety of façades.
Establish an implementation guide to ensure quality and brand consistency.
Simplify production and installation for local print vendors.
Solution
I redesigned the entire storefront experience using a modular grid-based system that replaced static, one-size-fits-all graphics with flexible templates. The new layouts introduced layered photography, bold typography, and color panels drawn from the core Health Mart palette—creating visual hierarchy and warmth at the street level.
Each storefront could select from pre-approved configurations tailored to its specific window and signage dimensions. An illustrated reference guide outlined all layout variations, materials, and color standards, giving every location the tools to execute confidently and consistently.
This system transformed the brand from a fragmented collection of individual stores into a unified, recognizable network with a clear visual language.
Health Mart later repurposed my modular graphics system for their annual national conference.
Impact
The modular storefront program elevated brand perception and created a cohesive customer experience across hundreds of locations. Visibility from the street and parking lot improved significantly, helping pharmacies stand out in competitive retail environments.
Independent owners gained flexibility and efficiency—reducing design turnaround time while maintaining compliance with brand standards. The refreshed system brought structure, clarity, and approachability to the brand, reinforcing Health Mart’s reputation as a trusted community pharmacy.
